Una mezcla de culturas, an Interaction with more than 60 different nationals in one day at the IE global village.

A sunny afternoon in Madrid with the sound of drums in the background, the different cultures at IE met to share the uniqueness of their culture. Students put on their finest cultural attire to mark the annual cultural festival in the presence of friends, families and the IE community.

Through our taste buds, we discovered the continents of the world from the variety of dishes that were available at the various country stands. My personal favourites were the stands for: Africa, Brazil, Colombia, China, Guatemala, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. The Africa stand in particular had a combination of Kenyan food, South African, Nigerian and Ghanaian dishes.

On a non-stop queue were performances of the Bollywood style dances, Salsa, Capoiera, Dabke, and a Mariachi who serenaded us to the very end of the event.

The IE Global Village brought together students from all the various programmes and intakes. It was a great and amazing opportunity to meet not just students but their families as well. In the mist of IE´s profound diversity, Global village displayed how similar our cultures were in Music, dance styles and cuisine.
